Charitable Grant Program

Rules

The Charitable Giving Committee of America’s First Federal Credit Union (“AmFirst”) aims to support nonprofit organizations and initiatives that align with our core values of integrity, service, and improving the quality of life of our neighbors. This program will provide financial grants to eligible organizations and projects that seek to advance the well-being of individuals and the communities we serve.

Eligible Projects

Grants will be considered for projects that provide a benefit to the community, focusing on:

• Financial literacy and education, especially among low-income or underserved groups;
• Supporting access to affordable credit or economic mobility;
• Providing access to critical resources such as food, healthcare, or financial assistance; or,
• Other activities that enhance the local community.

Grant Types, Amounts, and Limitations

AmFirst may award to recipients one of two types of grants:

• Impact Grants. Impact Grants range between $2,500 and $10,000.
• Innovation Grants. Innovation Grants range between $500 and $2,500.

Grants may be used to fund specific projects or programs that have clear goals, measurable outcomes, and timelines or to fund the general operations of eligible nonprofit organizations. Grants are generally awarded for one-time projects, with exceptions for ongoing initiatives that demonstrate significant community impact. Grant amounts will vary depending on the scope of the project or program. AmFirst reserves the right to determine the final amount of any grant awarded to a recipient. Grant funding is subject to available resources and is based on merits of the project or program.

1. Application. Applications are available at __________. Applicants must submit on or before the deadline completed application forms online at _____.
2. Review and Selection. Applications are reviewed once per year, during the month of October. In its sole and absolute business discretion, AmFirst select recipients from among eligible applicants. Applications will be assessed based on criteria such as, but not limited to, merits of the application; alignment with AmFirst’s mission and values; impact of the proposed project; feasibility of the project; and transparency/accountability of the organization. AmFirst is not obligated to provide a grant to any applicant which otherwise meets eligibility criteria and may reject an applicant for any reason unrelated to a legally-protected status or characteristic. AmFirst’s selections are final and are not subject to appeal or challenge.
3. Notification. AmFirst will usually notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 30 days after the end of the application period.
4. Deadline. Deadline to submit applications is September 30 for October’s meeting. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
5. Reapplication. An organization which did not receive a grant may apply again any time before the next deadline. An organization which received a grant may apply for another grant any time before the next deadline following one full calendar year of its receipt of the grant.
