Paying with your chip card. As the US transitions to chip card technology, the goal is to provide you with an easy experience at checkout while increasing security and reducing fraud. Many retailers already have chip-enabled terminals that can support your chip card transactions today. Paying with your chip card is easy. If you swipe your card at a chip-enabled terminal, and the payment isn’t accepted, you’ll be prompted to insert your card. Insert your chip card into the terminal with the chip facing up. Verify that the purchase amount displayed on the terminal screen is accurate. You may be prompted to provide your signature. Finally, remove your card from the terminal. It’s that easy. If you’d like to learn more about the chip card, feel free to visit the web link provided on the screen or contact your financial institution directly.
